Book Review: The wife before me written by Laura Elliot - 4 1/2 stars

Hi y'all! Happy September! I could also say happy beginning of the fall but for us in Cyprus its still so very hot that the fall seems to be far far away..
This week I finished reading the The wife before me written by Laura Elliot which Netgalley and Bookouture sent to me to read for an honest review.
This book was amazing and it gets 4 1/2 stars from me!
For me it was the type of book that made me feel that I couldn't read through the words quick enough cos I wanted to find out what happens next!

Its the story of Amelia and Elena who both married Nicholas in different points in time. When Elena meets Nicholas at the funeral of her mum she finds out that his wife has past away and immediately feels a connection to him. She is swept away by his gallant ways and his charm! Little does she know that behind his well constructed front lies a very controlling man.

The book is set both in the past and the present giving you the story of both Elena and Amelia which is great, in my opinion, since you get to see the struggle that both women had to endure. Both physical and psychological struggle.

Personally I truly enjoy books where you get the story from different points in time even though some reviews I have read did not enjoy this fact about the book.

This was a great book that kept me on the edge of my seat not wanting to put it down at all.

Let me know what you thought of the book if you read it!
Take care!

  1. Agreed, I also enjoy stories which are told from many perspectives and with flashbacks :)
